Support Our Cause: Organise a Fundraiser
The Liver Ireland Support Network (LISN) is committed to providing essential support, education, and advocacy for individuals living with liver disease. Our goal is to create a strong, compassionate community where patients and their families can find the resources and encouragement they need. However, we need your help to make this vision a reality. Organising a fundraiser is a fantastic way to contribute and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by liver disease and transplantation.

Why Your Support Matters
Liver Disease is now one of the top five causes of mortality in Ireland today, yet support and resources can often be limited. Our patient-led group aims to fill this gap by:
- Offering peer-to-peer support and sharing personal experiences.
- Providing up-to-date information on treatment options and management strategies.
- Advocating for liver disease and organ donation awareness and better healthcare policies.
- Hosting educational workshops and community events.
- Creating a safe space for emotional and mental health support.
Your fundraising efforts will directly support these initiatives, helping us to build a robust network of care and advocacy.

Become An Organ Donor
On April 20th, 2024, LISN was born, coinciding with Organ Donation Awareness Week—a cause deeply personal to each member of our committee. Many of us owe our lives to the selflessness of organ donors and their families and so we urge you to have the important conversation with your loved ones about organ donation and make sure they know your wish – Don’t leave your loved ones in doubt!
Every year, countless lives are saved and improved by the selfless act of organ donation. By registering as an organ donor, you have the power to leave a lasting legacy of hope and compassion. Your decision to donate organs can provide someone with a second chance at life, offering them the opportunity to see another sunrise, embrace loved ones, and pursue their dreams. It’s a testament to the generosity and empathy of the Irish people that we can come together to support one another in times of need, and registering as an organ donor is a tangible way to extend that support to those awaiting life-saving transplants.
Consider these facts: In Ireland, over 600 people are waiting for an organ transplant at any given time, and sadly, not all of them will receive the transplant they desperately need. By becoming an organ donor, you have the potential to save up to eight lives through organ donation and enhance the lives of up to 50 others through tissue donation. Organ donation knows no boundaries of age, gender, or background – anyone can be a donor and anyone can be a recipient. Your decision to register as an organ donor can bring hope to individuals and families facing unimaginable challenges, offering them a lifeline when they need it most. Let’s join together in this noble cause, making a difference one registration at a time.
By completing and sharing the quick online link to become a donor, you can help save lives and bring hope to those in need. Together let’s make a difference.
