A message from the team captain of Transplant Sport Ireland

For those of you who don't know me my name is Harry Ward I was living with kidney failure for 20 years after 3 year on dialysis I got the call and thanks to my Donor and family I am living life to the full for 18 years I have been involved in Transplant Sport and I really think this has kept me fit and healthy also for my mental health too. Transplant Sport Ireland formally known as Transplant Team Ireland is like one big happy family who all have an interest in sport

For those of you who don’t know me my name is Harry Ward I was living with kidney failure for 20 years after 3 year on Dialysis I got the call and Thanks to my Donor and family I am living life to the full for 18 years I have been involved in Transplant Sport and I really think this has kept me fit and healthy also for my mental health too Transplant Sport Ireland formally known as Transplant Team Ireland is like one big happy family who all have an interest in sport.

We are open to all Transplanted people and those on Dialysis we offer over 20 sports to choose from. One can be a complete novice at Sport or at the top of their game everyone is welcome to become a member.

I have been captain of the team for a number of years but now I am Team Manager. This year we have 28 athletes going to the European Transplant and Dialysis Championships in Lisbon for one week also 32 supporters some of us will be home 4 days and then we take off for the British Transplant Games just to list some of the events we are taking part in golf, swimming, tennis, table tennis, football, cycling, badminton, darts singles and darts triples, pétanque singles and doubles, athletics like running, mini marathon, race walk, shot putt, discus, javelin, ball throw, long jump, high jump, ten pin bowling,

So as you can see something for everyone it is most enjoyable and you make friends from all over the world next year the World Transplant Games are been held in Dresden so why not join up with this team our message is “Have The Conversation Say Yes To Organ Donation”
